Celebrate Valentine’s Day early by harnessing the power of gratitude! In collaboration with Ashley Grewe of Obsidian Education, we are offering a mindfulness and movement class on Thursday, February 8th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, with an emphasis on gratitude.
Adding a gratitude practice to your everyday life can provide a massive shift in how you perceive the world. One of my favorite analogies is that gratitude allows us to stop wondering if the grass is greener on the other side because we’re so busy enjoying how green our own grass is. It’s the same for kids – quick, daily practices of noticing the small things in life can lead to a more positive emotional state and a greater feeling of connection to the world and others. During our hour together, we’ll do a short yoga practice and guided meditation, read “All My Treasures: A Book of Joy” by Jo Witek, then create our own “treasure box” full of things we’re grateful for. Children can take the treasure boxes home to add to each time they recognize something they’re grateful for, reinforcing this impactful mindset.
This class is just for the kids – no parents allowed! ;p
Required donation of $5-10. Registration required. Each participant must be registered separately.
